Presentation
During the last decades, Cuban audiovisual production has configured a crucial territory for political and social debate. It obsessively generates narratives that seek to reorder Cuban history, addresses and discusses notions such as memory, history and the past as fundamental axis to renegotiate the present. The colloquium Addressing the Past: Memory and the Revolution Cuban in 21st Century Cuban Film and Media seeks to encourage discussion and debate on contemporary Cuban cinema, the complex political reality, the island’s cinematographic environments and its challenges.
