Abilio Estévez (Havana, 1954). Cuban writer. He has lived in Barcelona since 2000. He has written, among others, the novels: Tuyo es el reino (Yours is the Kingdom), winner of the Critics' Prize in Cuba in 1999 and the Prize for the Best Foreign Book in 2000, in France; Los palacios distantes (The Distant Palaces), selected by La Vanguardia as book of the year in 2004; and El navegante dormido (The Sleeping Sailor). He has also written into short stories and theater.
